I can't wait for April to arrive.
Scarborough Faire starts on April 8th and goes on until May 29th, and I am THRILLED. Any of you reading this and living in Texas should (this makes, like, three or four of you) should totally go. I'm rather disappointed that
The Corsairs (a singing pirate group!) won't be there this year, but I understand why they want to take a year off. *pouts*
The Rogues won't be there either, so I'm even sadder. I guess I'll just have to see if I can convince someone to go with me to the Texas Scottish Festival in June, as I know they'll be there... sometime...
On the plus side, I have an undying love for
Don Juan and Miguel, and they'll be there. Which means that
Esmerelda and her whip will also be there. Oh joy of joys... *laughs*
Groups at the festival whose CD's I must buy:
Cantiga
Hey Nunnie Nunnie (I get "The Mary Query" and "Sin" stuck in my head far more often than one would think possible)
Queen Anne's Lace
Now, having said all that, ONE THING and one thing only absolutely THRILLS me about this year. Isis and the Stardancers will be back! They took a hiatus from Scarborough for a while, and though about not coming back at all, but apparently they worked things out. And they'll be back. SQUEE! I am soo~ooo happy! The best part is that The Wings of Isis will be the ones performing. They're the best dancers. Two years ago some students showed up on their own to perform, and they were decent (I respected them for trying, and they were fun to watch), but... This means that Isis herself will be there, and I am in LOVE with her. She's, like... Ancient. (She's been teaching bellydancing since '77, and was a banker for 11 years before she started teaching!) But I adore her past all belief all the same.
