I have four books checked out of the MSU library right now: The Lost Language of Cranes and Equal Affections by David Leavitt, and The Charioteer by Mary Renault. I've only read the first two pages of The Charioteer so far, but I already like it very much. Best part so far:
"If one sat up as long as an hour past bedtime, except on Christmas and birthdays, one would be ill. Laurie, who had had this explained to him many times and accepted it as incontrovertible fact, inferred from it that after three hours, one would probably die."
Keep in mind, of course, that Laurie is only five years and seven months old.
