Pet Food Recall! + Hills M/D (update)
One more to add to the menufoods recall of 80+ brands pet food recall.
Hill's is voluntarily recalling it's Prescription M/D dry cat food. "Hill's is taking this precautionary action because during a two-month period in early 2007, wheat gluten for this product was provided by a company that also supplied wheat gluten to Menu Foods. U.S. Food and Drug Administration tests of wheat gluten samples from this period show the presence of a small amount of melamine."
Hills M/D exactly the kind of food that my mother's cat has been on (but hasn't eaten much of this particular lot #). My mother will be returning it & picking up a substitute for her cat. So far the cat seems to be fine, but we'll keep an eye on her.
