Almost A Year Now....
Well, since I sort of "discovered" Ninja Fail Guy, anyway....
A LOT of stuff has happened in the last month, starting with the bombshell the big bosses at work dropped on everybody. First, they said they were going to consolidate everyone from being in 2 buildings to one, which meant crowding at the very least. Then, they said they were going to open up a new call center in Georgia, of all places, and that starting the rumor mill working overtime, because it was found out that Georgia's minimum wage is almost $2 less than it is here...doesn't sound good, but hopefully, I won't have to be job hunting over the winter...But back to the whole "moving everybody into one building" thing, because that's the more immediate thing. Starting a couple of weeks ago, they told us that if we had to work on the weekend, we'd have to go to the other building. And last Saturday (not yesterday, the week before) my number came up, and it was a nightmare. Crowded, noisy, FREEZING cold, chairs that didn't work, and equipment that was almost as bad....I was never so glad to take VTO as I was that day! Then, this last Thursday, I came in from taking my mid-week day off, and find out that in that day, they moved Ninja Fail Guy's entire department up the hill to the "new" building.. To say I was stunned would be putting it mildly, especially since at that time I thought *we* wouldn't be moving there until after the first of the year. And as it was, I wasn't seeing much of NFG lately because our schedules were so different. Well, on Friday, I was sitting at a spot facing ML's cubicle, and something told me to look up in that direction...and there he was, talking to one of the morning supervisors. And I'm not ashamed to admit--here, anyway--my breath caught a bit. He's looking even better these days. He's letting his hair get longer for one thing. It's now down to his collar, and the bangs are long enough he has to brush them to the side. Hope he keeps it this way for a while....
And I found out Friday that, starting on Monday, I'd be working in the "new" building from now on. After working there yesterday. I was *not* looking forward to that, but I was determined to make the best of it in a sort of "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger" kind of way. Well, yesterday didn't turn out badly at all. Oh, work was still wacko, but I found a spot on the "fringe" of where we were supposed to be, and not only was it a little quieter, I found out I was facing NFG's department! Got a chair that worked, the equipment worked better,and to top it all off, as I was walking to my first break, I looked into the supervisors cubicle at the end of the row I was in...and there was The Mug! The shiny metallic, purple travel mug NFG uses! He wasn't there yesterday, though. But now I know where his department is, and where *his* cubicle is, so I know where *I'm* going to be sitting from now on! It may just work out yet....
