A Basic Rule of cell phone etiquette:

Please, for the love of god, don't answer your cell phone in class. If you forget to turn it off and it rings - not a huge deal. Its a little annoying, but can be overlooked in most cases. Just turn it off inconspicuously and pretend nothing happened. Alright? Not so hard. Or if you don't want to turn it off, turn the volume down so low no one will be able to hear it if it should ring. Again, not so hard.

Never, EVER answer the call and ask the person not to call because you're in class! JUST DON'T DO IT! Not only is it annoying, its rude, obnoxious, and disrespectful. Even if you think you're trying to stop the distractions by telling the caller to stop calling, you're creating more distractions for students (and teachers) who are shocked at your actions.
