I successfully destroyed one of the melons. But from what I hear, the red ones are the easiest: my victory, if you can call it that, rings hollow.

I've retrieved one of the multicolored melons and brought it back to the apartment. Anyone interested in cracking this puzzle rationally, you're welcome to join me.
