Another visit to my childhood, Memento Eden? Your attention is flattering, but unwarranted. I was weak, then. I have made myself strong. You'll see this for yourself soon enough.
The island, my homeland... Nothing changes. So many feeble humans living their pathetic, insignificant lives. Deluding themselves into becoming the center of their own personal universes. S.T.A.R.S. was no exception. How did I stand to live among those clowning fools? Marini, Burton, Redfield... That last was a resident here at Memento Eden, though he has since disappeared. The others... Aiken, Valentine, and our newest recruit, Chambers.
I know their names and faces, but their purpose still eludes me. Why go to the trouble of founding S.T.A.R.S.? Surely there was more at stake than control over the Raccoon region. S.T.A.R.S. was my creation, and I do not waste opportunities. There must have been...

Yes. Yes, I see now... Umbrella's time was at an end. To hasten my escape, and to secure my position with its competitors... I lead them to their deaths. S.T.A.R.S. was the best and the brightest; their training made for ideal test data for the Arklay facilities' inhabitants.

I met Chris Redfield, here on the island. He was older than I remember him, by at least a decade. That tells me he did not perish the night I sent S.T.A.R.S. to their deaths. Something went wrong.
Yet another reason to bring this island to its knees. I will find where they have taken you, Chris, and I will wring the answers I need from your screaming mouth. I'm not the weak child I was. I am Albert Wesker, and nothing- and no one -will stand in my way.
