"Death"? Really now, Memento Eden, this is childish of you. I'm afraid you'll need to try a little harder than that if you wish to unnerve me.

However...

This new arrival, Chris. I can't explain why, but even thinking of him raises a hatred in me. I haven't felt a sensation this vivid since my arrival on the island. It's ( Read more... )

Mr. Wesker? What are you talking about?

I believe I was specific enough.

Don't be late.

This is like one of those movies, right? Where suddenly, you shout "October Fool's!"

My patience wears thin. Be at the appointed meeting places or suffer the consequences. The choice is yours.

Hellooo, the forest covers the whole island!

Your concern, while touching, is unwarranted. I will find you.

She was going to tell Mr. Godot, but then she remembered that he was -- gone. For a moment, she thought she had really smelled coffee. Then, she had tried to find Nick, but she couldn't find him anywhere. She'd dispatched a quick note through the journals, but he hadn't answered ( ... )

"You underestimate me, Ms. Fey." replied a voice, and a heartbeat later Wesker was at her side. Despite it being the middle of the night, he still wore his sunglasses, and they did not seem to be giving him any trouble.

"I must thank you for your timely arrival." Dressed as he was in all black, one would expect Wesker to be little more than a pale face floating in the darkness. To the contrary, his silhouette stood out against the shadows, the darkness of the forest seemingly eclipsed by his own. "I understand this meeting was rather abrupt. Unfortunately, this is but the least of your worries."

She bit into her burger again, not exactly paying attention to him. She didn't like wearing black all that much, and she didn't see why he did, but hey, she wasn't going to be judgmental and narrow-minded over something like fashion sense. Black was supposed to be a slimming color, right? So maybe Mr. Wesker had some self-esteem issues. That made her look at him in an entirely new light, and she chewed thoughtfully. Okay, Maya, what would Nick do? Her spirit soared, and she could feel the triumphant music play as she shoved her badge into the witness's face.

The music cut off once she remembered she didn't own a badge. No one ever made badges for spirit mediums. Then, a sudden memory flashed in her mind. She paused, the burger halfway to her mouth.

"Hey, do you think you could do that voice of that one guy in the movie? You know, with the voice and the black mask and the breathing and the 'Luke, you are my father!' I mean, this is like the perfect time."

Wesker examined his nails; the fact that he was wearing gloves didn't seem to occur to him. "How is Pearl?" he asked, off-handedly.

Scandalized, Maya looked at him, burger forgotten for the moment. What was he thinking? "Of course Pearl can't do the voice! I don't think even Nick can do it!" Maya, though, could do a passable imitation, though it had mainly involved sneaking up on Nick and just breathing into his ear. It had usually worked, or Nick just had been a sissy. She thought both.

"That," replied Wesker, "was not what I was referring to." This kind of obfuscating stupidity wore on his nerves. If it was obfuscating, that is.

"What I meant to ask was whether you've noticed any signs of sickness in the girl. Has she displayed symptoms of chronic pain, headaches, lethargy?"
