[Maia has been wondering the ship for a small stretch of time, but even still, she's miserably lost and she has absolutely no idea where to find her brother. If she weren't so worried, she'd probably get angry and think about hitting something. Maybe.]
Oh!
[She lets out a startled, but relieved, noise as she catches sight of Jak. Maia has never seen this boy before, and he looks about as lost as she does. Still, at least there's someone here! Maybe there was a chance he could help her.]
Are you alright?
[Not exactly the best introduction, but it was something.]
[Eh? Jak turns and ... oh hey look at that, yet another person he doesn't recognize. Seriously, Sandover is tiny and the Fire Canyon is impossible to cross, how come there are all these people suddenly hanging around?
Then again, she is pretty hot.
Jak puts on his best charming smile and leans up against the wall casually. Hey baby.]
jak, you is pimpinsolittleeffortSeptember 5 2010, 03:50:54 UTC
[No verbal answer, but she instead gets a smile. Well, that probably means he's alright, then! Still, she stares at him for a moment, trying to figure out exactly what part of the world he's from. They didn't dress like that back up north, although...ah, yes! That must have been it.]
You're from Sandover Village, yes?
[That style of clothing was a bit more common down south, anyway.]
[Hm. The boy still isn't talking to her, but he's still responding, and it isn't too hard to understand him. That's definitely a plus.
She smiles. Okay, so he's from Sandover...which is a bit odd, since this place looks nothing like anywhere in Sandover Village. Not to mention the fact that Maia is supposed to be back home with her brother.]

[The Lava Tube?! But that's all the way past Rock village, past Snowy Mountain and aaaaaaaaaall the way up north!
He looks suitably surprised that she's made her way all the way down to Sandover, and he gives her a questioning look. Why did she come all the way over here?]

[Oh no no no, it's all about Maia tonight. Jak knows how to work this, he's a total ladykiller, you know.
And ladies liiiiike ... they like chocolates, right? He needs to find some chocolates. There must be a gift shop or something around here, he thinks he has some orbs with him.]

[Maia's still waiting for a name, although it seems like she isn't going to get one...or any kind of answer from him, really. It has her a bit curious, and Jak seems to be distracted by some other thoughts, anyway.]
Forgive me if I'm speaking out of place, but are you mute?
[If he was, then him not saying anything would make a lot more sense.]
[Commentlog]aboyandhisratSeptember 5 2010, 05:08:06 UTC
[Jak blinks at her, then shrugs and shakes his head slightly.
He's perfectly capable of talking, he just ... prefers not to. Listening to what people have to say is more interesting. Of course it means most people assume that he's mute, but it doesn't particularly bother him.]

I see.
[Maia absently bites her lower lip. So...he could talk, but just didn't seem to want to. Odd, but it wasn't as if she could understand him. Although, the lack of speaking still made it difficult for Maia to find out his name.]
Well, ah...you, I suppose. Anyway, if we're both lost, perhaps we could search this place together? Four eyes are better than two, after all!

Me? I live up north - just above the Lava Tube.

I'm afraid I'm a bit lost. I'm supposed to be home with my brother, but somehow I wound up here.
[Maia pauses for a moment before she shakes her head and offers Jak another smile.]
Ah, I'm sorry! I'm asking for help and you don't even know my name.
[She holds out her hand.]
I'm Maia.

Smiling, Jak takes her hand and lifts it to kiss. Yeah, he's a charming little thing, isn't he?]

[Maia lets out an amused - but flattered - laugh as Jak kisses her hand.]
It's nice to meet you, too. What's your name?
