Seventy-Eighth Mission [OPEN COMMENTLOG]

[Jak's out of the brig.  Actually, he's been out for most of the day, but after taking the time to raid the medical bay for bandages to cover his wrists and ankles, and to bind his ribs -- the Major broke quote a few in their scuffle -- he's holed himself back up in his room with Daxter.]

Do you wanna do this post- or -pre beatup? blitzmeister November 26 2009, 21:32:23 UTC
[Of course he's going to drop by for a little visit. Oooof course. And you can definitely be sure he's got his two hovercams with him, as well.]

Oh my, so many options. Post? shadesofeco November 26 2009, 21:51:32 UTC
[dkflsjkldjfd Jak just wants to sleep. And there are yet more people lining up to get a piece of him. It takes him a while to get to the door, limping on his thankfully well-bandaged foot.

Finally he cracks it open. Hey Blitz, guess who looks like shit.]

[Blitz raises a hand in a slight wave when the door opens and WOW Jak looks like shit. The beating Batou gave him wouldn't leave any less, on top of what happened during his little stay in the brig. But still, WOW.]

Jak, my boy! I know you're probably tired of the all the people and attention, but I just wouldn't to stop by for a few words. Mind a chat at all?

[Jak fixes him with a weary glare, then steps back and leaves the door open, hobbling back over to the couch to sit down. Come on in, Blitz.]

[Blitz follows Jak in with his hands behind his back, but doesn't sit. His hovercams float around behind him. Are they recording? You bet they are.

He's silent a moment and then levels a look of concern at Jak. Maybe a bit of pity.]

Listen, Jak, I don't know what happened, and I do know you're technically not the Jak I knew in Kras, but you've got my support. Officially I'm staying neutral in the siding war, but if you need a drink or a talk, I'm all ears.

[Jak sits down slowly, with a lot of physical weariness and no small amount of emotional exhaustion too. But he fixes the flashy showman with a guarded look, ears low.]

Why. You heard what I did.

[He's not disputing his guilt or motive, but he does want to hear what Blitz has to say about it.]

[Blitz shrugs, arms out and hands splayed.]

Benefit of the doubt, I guess? I'm tempted to trust the people I know over the people I don't. Although I suppose you don't entirely fit into either category, hm?

[It's not often that people give him the benefit of the doubt. Damas was the last, and look where that got him.

Jak's suspicious, but he nods slowly. All things considered, he needs all the support he can get.]

Thanks.

Any time! I can't be of much help on a public scale, but just so you know.

[He doesn't expect Jak to trust after only speaking a handful of times. But in a situation like this? The nice-face doesn't hurt. He does know someone who's closer to gaining Jak's trust, though. So...]

One person I know you'll be able to count on is Razer. I've known him all his career and he is steadfast in his dedication to someone.

[It's not quite a lie.]

[One eyebrow quirks up, and Jak's ears twitch. Razer.]

I'll keep it in mind.

[Razer did seem to be putting a lot of effort into watching out for Jak. He was starting to wonder if he really meant it.]

[Blitz nods again. With that, he'll wrap things up.]

Good. Razer was good for you, Jak; just like Kras was. Whatever it is you're going through now, well... I'm sure he'll do some good again.

[His eyes narrow slightly.]

What do you mean?

[Razer's been dropping hints like crazy, but Jak never was the fastest zoomer off the starting block. So to speak.]

[Blitz narrows his eyes slightly. Razer hadn't told him any details of the story he'd been working on Jak with, other than that he was drunk the first time. He'd have to be vague and tred carefully.]

Well, you two were close. Sure, the first time it happened you were drunk, and there was always that mechanic girl, but once you two were together that flame was hotter than burnt rubber from a turbo boost at the start line. And it was great for ratings! I mean, you were ratings gold by yourself, but everyone loves a good scandal. When you two got on the track together... well, I certainly wouldn't want to feel that explosion.

[Jak cringes slightly. Him and Razer? Seriously? Maybe if they'd been really drunk, but ...

Ugh, it's hard to think after being beaten around the head by a furious cyborg and a small tank, and he sighs, rubbing his temple.]

Great. Thanks.

[Blitz chuckles and grins. With that reaction, he's done his work.]

Don't mention it. In any case, I'll let you get some shut eye, if it's what you want.

[The mental image is going to be burned into his retinas. He'll sleep but he'll have nightmares.]

Yeah, thanks.

[Is that sarcasm? It just might be.]
