This has really been a great summer. Luckily, I found a job where I could work from home. That made life a little less stressful. Chris and I went on a nice, relaxing vacation to Wildwood a week ago. Highlights: We basically witnessed a divorce going on a couple rooms from ours at the hotel. Things were being thrown around and the couple's poor son was screaming at his parents to stop. The family was gone the next morning. Chris won big in AC. Yay! Stumpo's has the best garlic knots EVER! I want to drive to Cape May just for the garlic knots. I think Chris must have eaten half of the snow crabs in the ocean by the time our vacation was over.
When we got back from vacation, I had my new teacher orientation. There was basically nothing new to learn, since I've already worked in the district. The second day was helpful because we had six hours to work on our classroom websites. Day 3 we had a bus tour of Piscataway which was a little hokey, but I did learn a lot of history about Piscataway and why schools there are named such funny names like Connackamack and Quibbletown. Then we got to set up our classrooms in the afternoon. Mine is set up the way I want it, I just have to decorate now. Ugh, and laminate. I have so many posters I have to laminate.
I've been having dreams every other day about things going wrong the first day of school. I dreamt my students wouldn't like me. I dreamt another teacher was in my classroom telling me I couldn't teach the way I wanted to. I dreamt my students didn't follow any rules. Lol. I am nervous about the first day, but I know I'll be fine. I've been doing so much to get ready and be prepared, but I still have a lot to do in the next two weeks to be completely ready.
