If you need me there, I'll be there. I'm kind of hoping Cable can knock some sense into Erik, though I doubt it. Once he's got his sights set on something it ain't easy to deter him.

I just want you to understand. Since you publicly announced your relationship with Magneto to the X-men -- and I blame myself, a little, I encouraged that -- it's very unlikely that information won't come out at the summit. So I'd like you to be there, but I'm afraid it will be awkward for you. And if you do decide to go, you and Erik will need to decide how to behave toward each other. And don't feel like I'm lecturing, just because Erik is the bad guy here. Scott and I went through the same thing when we started dating -- and when we started dating again and -- well, you get the idea. Public versus private lives can be hard to balance, as my latest experience with the media only reminded me.
On the other hand, there are particular reasons I'd like you to be there. They have to do with Mystique. If you don't want me to say anymore, I won't.

All right, just. . .you know, Rachel and I will be running the security. We'll be monitoring the meetings but not taking part. So I'm putting a lot of faith in you. And I know you'll do the right thing and earn it.
Mystique is trying to kill Magneto. That's not to do with ME. We're worried she might show up. She won't be able to do anything, not with Cable's security system, but she could cause trouble. And we don't know what she'll look like, of course, and a telepathic security system is no good against her. So our best bet is to have someone among the attendees with an advanced degree in Mystique studies. No one knows her the way you do, am I right?
