OOC:::

Aw, hell yeah!!!!

And, did I ever mention how freakin' ecstatic I am that you RETCONNED your T_M character in order to make it so that Wanda had brought Jean back all along?

You retconned.

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Wanda found herself in a long corridor with many doors. She was surrounded by light and sound, yet it was silent and dark. She wondered if this was where Jean always went when she was dead or not-dead as it were. It seemed lonely.

"Jean?" Wanda called, softly and she heard her voice echoed in her head. There was no other response. She looked at the doors, held a hand up and thought to herself, I need to find Jean. Her hand glowed; the light sprang out of her and one of the doors lit up briefly and then faded away. Wanda walked slowly to the door and opened it.

Jean was in a classroom, sitting at a small desk, a book of poetry open in front of her.

"There you are," Wanda said as she entered. "Why are you hiding?"

Jean was taken aback to hear a voice that wasn't her own. Just as quickly, she realized that the white-hot room was gone, that she sat in a child's classroom -- not a classroom from her past; this must be someone else's memory.

She looked up to see Wanda approaching, and stiffened as she realized the other woman was wearing a Phoenix costume.

"No!" Jean jerked to her feet. "No -- you're not -- that isn't. No!" And looking down she saw her own body clad in the green and gold costume from her youth. Moving toward Wanda, she said, "Why do you think I'm hiding, you crazy bitch?" Not that she expected a rational answer out of Wanda.

Wanda frowned slightly. "No need to be rude." She closed the door behind her and swept imperiously into the room. She sat on top of the desk closest to Jean's. "I thought you liked working at the school, but if you'd prefer..."

She raised one scarlet clad hand and the school room disappeared, replaced immediately with the interior of an airlane, or perhaps a space ship. "This is where you first met Phoenix right?" Wanda lay a hand to her chest as she spoke. The firebird design on her chest was golden and her costume bright red but Jean understood somehow she wasn't Dark Phoenix.

"I'm sorry if it's a little off, I don't remember the blackbird. This is a bit more like a quinjet probably." Wanda smiled at Jean. "I don't know why you're hiding. I'd like you to come home. I don't want to be married to a puppet. I'd rather have you."

Jean shook her head and looked away. "It was the shuttle. We'd been in space."

The room around them flashed and everyone was there -- Scott, Logan, Lorna, Alex, Banshee -- everyone was trying to act like they weren't panicking, but Jean could feel the psychic tension. Someone would have to do something.

"No," she said, and she flashed back to the classroom. I don't want to go there. I'll stay here." She shook her head. "I don't care who you're married to. What does it have to do with me?" She looked down, not wanting to see the emblem on Wanda's chest.
