Jean has just made it to Wundagore Mountain when the news of the bombing at Friends of Humanity comes through on the SHIELD issue PDA that Tony gave her as a "loan." She's already decided that she's not going to be stupid enough to use the thing for any communication she doesn't want SHIELD to know about, but she sees no harm in responding to this one. Her first thoguht, frankly, is "sons of bitches had it coming," but that's not exactly in X-Corp's mission statement.

I assume you are on this, but can you make a public statement on behalf of X-Corp. I'm tied up at the moment, and I don't want to invite too many questions about my whereabouts.
You've done a good job with the media, and I trust your judgment on this matter.

Jean hopes she is killing three birds with this message. First, taking care of the need to respond to the bombing. Second, letting Rachel know she's available if the girl is ready to talk. Third, dropping a strong hint that, for any matters she doesn't want broadcast to and archived by SHIELD, Rachel should use another form of communication.
