I am AGONIZING over the decision on whether to buy this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0786950633/ref=s9subs_c2_img2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=05DZZ03RY0BN6PMRYC4W&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=278240301&pf_rd_i=507846 from Amazon with the awesome discount, or pay a ton more and buy locally just so I KNOW I will have it in my sweaty palms on Friday. I fucking HATE waiting for things more than anything. I wish Amazon had some kind of "Order now and get it on releaase date" like Gamestop and other sites have. It's not like the books aren't there already. Apparently people that bought from buy.com already have it, at least that is the prevailing rumor on the WoTC forums. Ugh, I wish I didn't care, but this is STILL D&D. D20 may have frustrated me and made me move to faster running systems, but this IS supposedly a big change to the standard that will speed and ease gameplay to alow for more dramma and story progression, while still retaining the crunchy bits. I know D&D and WoTC is SOOOO hated by the gaming elite among my friends, but it IS the original. It has history and a special place with me because of that. I like other systems, but good old D&D still just feels right every once in a while, and since it is well-known and mainstream, it is easy to find gamers that know and play it.
