Sophie Tooth First Update
Yup here's the STFU :)
We went to the pet dentist saturday morning.
And it turns out that Sophie has something called "Pulpitis".

Inflammation of dental pulp.
According to the dentist it's caused by trauma to the tooth. This could either be because of a hard chewable like rawhide or by hitting a wall or something.
Sophie both has a huge rawhide bone she got for x-mas and she's clumsy enough to slam her head into things occasionally. So either cause would be quite possible reasons.
Anyway, her tooth getting banged somewhere causes the veins and stuff in her tooth to get inflamed but there's no room for that inside the tooth because it doesn't expand like skin would. So it turns a pink/purple then brown. the inside dies and in a couple of months bacteria start to infect the tooth and it'd get nasty.
So I'm glad I spotted it as early as I did. According to the dentist it doesn't hurt her right now. (Which is what I guessed since she still plays with her toys, eats and drinks without any problems.
But....
She'll have to have a rootcanal :(
Imagine that. Our dog getting a rootcanal lmao!
Ah well. we lubs her so we'll just have to have it done.
Unfortunately a tooth which has had a rootcanal is more prone to breakage than a normal tooth.
So she won't be allowed to have her beloved rawhide again :( Just softer treats and toys from now on.
She went into a back room with the doc to have some blood taken. He said she was too happy to even notice the blood being taken lol.
They're gonna run a few tests on it to see if she's healthy enough. (they're gonna put her under during the rootcanal and that can be fatal for especially larger dogs if they're not in good health.)
So we'll be hearing the results of that today, and make an appointment which he said will probably be sometime late feb.
So that's the deal for now.
On a lighter note.
After the vet/dentist thingy we headed back home to put together the bowflex we got delivered on friday,
pack up our things and head over to mord's mom's place.
We were gonna go babysit her horses and dog while she was away for the weekend.
So Sophie got to hang out with her pal Kodi and romp around in the snow :)
All went well, except for this weird feeling I had that evening. I felt very uneasy from 11 'till about 2 AM.
During which period something even weirder happened lol.
We were asleep (wel Mord was, I was still semi awake because of that strange feeling I had) when all of a sudden there was this horribly loud thump which sounded like it was in the middle of the bedroom. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't a dog laying down kind of thump. it sounded (and felt) more like someone'd pushed over a heavy bookcase or something. It even woke Mord up. So in my panick to find the lightswitch I pulled a muscle :P (which was great since I was already sore allover from dragging the bowflex packages up the stairs on friday :P)
Anyway, we never did find what could've made that loud sound though. Nothing had fallen over. Weird.
By that time I'd grown pretty damn tired of that weird feeling, and the noise to top it off :P
So I actually went outloud: "If there's any bedroom monsters in here, STFU! Coz I'm NOT in the mood right now!" lol
I guess it worked coz we didn't hear anything else after that :P
So yeah, that was our weekend heheh.
