Just last week it was the three of them, on stage, playing together. It's a happy memory, one of her better ones, but now it also hurts a little.
They'd talked about getting a band together, about what would happen if someone disappeared. Figured it had to be him.
Her smile does soften a little when he joins in with her. His playing and company is always welcomed after all.]

[A genuine question. Giles hasn't lost many of his friends made here. Friends from home, yes. Since day one, since before day one. But the circle he's built around himself that never knew Sunnydale...no, the village has been reasonably kind, there. Perhaps that's why he's been pulling away from Buffy more and more.]
