[This place just seems a good place for leaving people, doesn't it? Ever since Giles was also left here with a mutilated left arm and no sight, he's kept half an eye out for people returning the same way. That and, well, he has to take some pretty frequent trips to the Item Shop, now that the boat is nearing completion.

...so Alice, with her injuries, kind of stands out. Unfortunately for Giles, his brain jumps in a little early with matters.]

Ginia!

[Alice certainly makes a sight coming out of the forest in a blood-stained - most of the stains are dark brown, but a few smaller redder stains dot and streak here and there - New Feather dress. There's a bare smile on her face and a small wave as she leans against the nearest available surface.]

/I hope you don't make it a habit of saying the wrong name./

[Giles has actually stumbled to a stop next to her before Alice's words entirely sink in.

...he can't help but grimace.

Oh.]

Not generally, no.

[Hello to you too. Alice fixes him with a flat look before she brushes past him, stumbling slowly along.]

Stop that. [Giles reaches out to grab Alice's uninjured arm.] You'll never make it home in that state.

[Alice roughly jerks away from him, stumbling a bit in the process. After days of being prodded and poked at, being touched is the last thing she wants. Her expression shows it, eyes wavering between feral anger and fear.]

/I'll be fine./

[...okay. Alice bugs him, but Giles also knows that look. His hands go where she can see them, the annoyance fading to something like actual concern.]

At least let me stop you molting all over the place. The more feathers you lose, the worse off you'll be.

[Alice glances over her shoulder at her tattered wings. Dark blue feathers dot the ground here and there in a zig-zagging path behind her. Right. Protect the wings or die. Still, she gives him another look, still wary and careful.]

/Didn't know you were a doctor./

I'm not. I know a doctor - quite a handy one. What I do have, however, is relatively stable skill with Nala, the spirit of healing.

...I take it that Ginia never got around to leaving that note?

/Wouldn't know. Not back to the apartment yet./

Of course. My mistake. The Malnosso generally aren't that kind.

[He indicates back towards the clinic.] Come on. You need somewhere to sit, at least.

[Alice glances over at the clinic, then over at Giles. Right, well, the sooner she's patched up, the sooner she can make her way back home. She relents with a small nod and begins to walk toward it, stubbornly trudging on.]

[Giles follows a pace or two behind. He's trying not to be too obvious that he's there to try and catch her if he stumbles, but the implication is probably there.]

[Alice is quite aware of his shadowing. It's... appreciated, in some way. The biggest risk of falling and hurting her left arm even further and hands are valuable enough, but when you're mute, you do what you can to keep them safe.

She finally reaches the door to the clinic and opens it, balking slightly. No. No more clinics, no more doctors, definitely not.]

[Giles notes the hesitation. To some degree, he can guess at its cause.]

Alice?

[There's a pause as Alice tries to find the words, then finally moving away from the door and moving on.]
