[Accidental Video]

[There's a blur of motion and pages as the journal falls through the air and lands on the ground, a leather book bag and some other notebooks landing nearby. Within the camera's view is Ginia, holding a bag of groceries, backed against a building, and watching something (or somethings) calmly out of view. With care, she slowly ( Read more... )

[ On Ginia's jog back to her apartment, she might see Martel running not far from her. Normally, Martel would take the time to greet people she passes by but not today. She too busy trying to avoid being killed by a giant monster to exchange such pleasantries.

She's a healer so she's not accustomed to physical fighting. She can cast some offensive spells but by the time she's finished the monster would already be slicing her in half. ]

[Dear god what is that thing?! While some part of her mind realizes how idiotic it is rushing into a fight without some kind of plan, with someone in trouble, there's not much else on Ginia's mind other than getting the other woman out of there.

Fishing out a ball of twine from her bag, Ginia rolls out about two feet of twine and snips it off with her pocket knife. Then grabbing some debris off the ground - a broken piece of wood and a brick, she wraps and ties off the twine to create a makeshift bola. Running forward and swinging, she releases the improvised weapon at the monster's legs, hoping to at least trip it up to buy them some time.]

[ Martel thought it was all over for her. She didn't want to die just yet even though she shouldn't even be alive in the first place. But that didn't mean she's was going forfeit her life so easily.

Just as the Sword Dancer was bringing down its sword down on her it suddenly stopped. Confused at its sudden mercy, she looked back to see a bola wrapped around its feet and a woman not so far from it. She gasped in amazement at her bravery. No one in the right mind would risk their neck to save some stranger and yet this woman she had never seen before did.

However, despite her brave efforts, the twine snaps easily from the monsters strength and now directs its attention to a new target. Realizing this, Martel will try to defend her savior by casting a spell. ]

[action] Definitely. Great monster design though. shadedsunlight July 29 2011, 03:42:38 UTC
[Ginia herself was amazed the plan even worked and the monster stopped. However, now was not a time to pat herself on the back and a plan without a plan to follow up with was well worthless. Quickly looking around for something to arm herself with, Ginia found a broken pipe sticking out of the rubble of what was once a building.

As the monster came toward her, Ginia held the pipe in her hands like a sword, carefully watching its movements and ready to dodge away from its sword. Maybe if she could get close enough, she could break some joints and slow it down a little, giving them both enough time to get away.]

Holy Lance!

[ Glowing runes appeared beneath the Sword Dancer's feet and a luminous lance impales the monster from above. The spell does some major damage on it, but it's not enough to stop its rampage. ]

[Impressive, very impressive. Ginia would have more time to be impressed by the attack if she wasn't so focused on getting them out alive. The attack buys her a bit of time and she rushes in to stab the Sword Dancer through the ankle, stabbing through cartilage and sinew and locking one foot.]

[ Seeing the Sword Dancer momentarily incapacitated, Martel seizes the chance to grab the stranger's hand and runs towards the nearest alley. Once safely away, she looks around the wall she is leaning against to see if the monster had followed. ]

[Ginia runs with Martel with no complaints. There is merit in knowing when to leave a fight and while she doesn't like the idea of leaving the monster in the event it hurts someone, there are others much better suited to fight it.

The Sword Dancer gives a few swings of his sword around before it slowly lumbers off, dragging his injured foot. Ginia breaths a small sigh of relief as it passes by without noticing them. Turning to Martel, she takes out a notepad and pen and writes out a message.]

Are you okay?

[ Martel is stunned at first by the woman's way of communication but puts those thoughts aside. She's probably mute. ]

Yes, I'm okay. Thank you for saving me back there. I didn't think anyone would go out and help me like that. Thank you!

No need to thank me, it's what most people would have done. I should be thanking you for slowing him down with that spell, I'm not sure what I would have done.

Anyone would have helped you after seeing what you did. Also it wouldn't be right just to leave you there. It's just the natural thing to do.

[There's a small pause as Ginia hears a distant roar, making sure nothing is coming their way before she resumes writing.]

I'm Ginia. How about you?

I'm Martel. Pleased to meet you. I'm well, but I've been through some better times.

[ She looks towards the monster's direction before turning back to her again. ]

We should probably go to a safer location.

We take what the circumstances give us.

[Ginia nods in agreement, giving a small stretch and glancing out toward the entrance of the alley.]

I'm going to check to see if everything is clear, then we can move on, all right?

Okay, but be careful. The Sword Dancer has an obsession with fighting and won't hesitate to attack you.

[Ginia gives an understanding nod, definitely not wanting another run-in with the Sword Dancer. She moves carefully toward the alley and carefully looks out, checking all the directions and listening for anything dangerous. With the coast clear, she motions back at Martel.]
