career conference started today and i loved the keynote address speaker. he's really comical with his jokes and i honestly thought he was the best throughout the rest of the day cos i really enjoyed his talk. heh. and what he said, well, really made sense. it's a different angle to things altogether. i quote,

"because it would pain me to see you guys doing what your parents do. what the society does. to ignore their families and friends and work their lives off chasing after a senior post status. at all costs. .. ...choose something that allows you to live a meaningful and special life. "

not word for word of course (i don't have that good memory), but the gist is there. (and it's not against all parents or every society member just for clarity's sake.) fyi his speech was on values and careers. i really admire how he has such strong values he believes in and would even turn away attractive investments if it clashes with what he strongly feels about. bit hard to express here but yeah, heh.

out of all the areas today i chose engineering, psychiatry and broadcast journalism to attend and well. engineering is not for me la. at least that's one area crossed out somewhat, lol. i don't know why people felt the psychiatry talk was boring cos i thought it was okay? in fact most interesting out of the whole day's (minus keynote address speaker) because it turned out broadcast journalism was about appearing on tv and reading news/hosting shows which well, i'm not exactly appear on tv everyday kind i guess, though what was presented definitely seemed fun, lol. i was thinking more of newspaper journalism...but ohwell haha.

i'm very happy i chiong-ed finish my math ws before i went home. heh. AND i just finished my chinese SIA portfolio! how great is that i never thought this day would come (okay sorry exaggerating.). now all that's left is cutting and pasting for deco to gain more marks..sheesh.

oh and some jokes from the keynote address speaker. he wanted us to guess whether these items were masculine or feminine.

"hour glass is feminine because the weight goes to the bottom over time."

"the MRT train is masculine, because it always uses the same line to pick people up."

"the kidneys are feminine because they go to bathroom in pairs. out of my whole life i've never heard anyone say 'eh martin wanna go toilet anot.' "

lol! okaay.. haha.

another conference day tomorrow i guess. and then it's off to camp till friday. hahah.
