[The offense flows] ManipuLADY so it's a game where characters have to keep moving? Rys_kit Yup. Rys_kit And each new place they move in to could potentially have echos ManipuLADY I love that Rys_kit
ManipuLADY And lots of opps for people to get split up? Rys_kit Yup. ManipuLADY Brilliant Rys_kit They don't have to all stay in one place. ManipuLADY Love it Rys_kit And I've come up with a story background for 'How This Came To Be' ManipuLADY Yeah?? Rys_kit Yeah. During the war with Hitler, the Americans wanted to try to combat his obsession with the paranormal by getting Rys_kit their own foot in the door. So they started doing tests in a small little town in the middle of nowhere. Rys_kit And since they didn't want to use potential soldiers, they went and used the patients in an asylum. Rys_kit They started testing to bring out psionic ability and blahblahblah. Problem is, it worked. Rys_kit And there was one batshit patient who had the ability to draw others to him and make them see things his way. And he became Rys_kit the core for the Darkness. Rys_kit When the military realized how much they fucked up, they razed the place and slaughtered everyone Rys_kit but that much psionic power couldn't just be eradicated. Rys_kit So it stayed dormant until ~event that brings everyone there~ Rys_kit And the Light is that trope of the not-crazy person who'd been committed because maybe they were mute or something. ManipuLADY I think some people might be uncomfortable with the war element Rys_kit And the Darkness couldn't draw her to them, so they move in this cycle of the Dark trying to consume the Light. ManipuLADY People can be really unkind about stuff related to ww2 being involved in rp Rys_kit WW2 isn't going to be involved in the game itself. It's just the timeline. ManipuLADY I know Ophelia got dragged all through the anon comms over a canon character who was hitler in BN's npcs Rys_kit The only reference to the war is going to be that the experiments were done because of Hitler's obsession with the paranormal. Rys_kit And there wasn't really a huge code of ethics back then. Rys_kit I couldn't get away with doing that in a current timeline. Rys_kit And before then, they wouldn't have had the resources. ManipuLADY I just think mentioning ww2 isn't a good idea. Does the setting need to be on earth? Rys_kit Yeah. Rys_kit I'm not doing sci-fi space stuff. Rys_kit I'm sticking with what I'm comfortable with. ManipuLADY I'm sorry but I'm afraid I'm not comfortable with being involved then. Rys_kit Okay
So, you k now, the fact that I'm using a a timeline also placed in fact for things that happened in rl, like, you know, The Manhattan Project and other shady government dealings is offensive too. Even though it has NOTHING to do with the war and is just using the timeline as a legitimate and logical excuse as to why they'd be experimenting on mental patients in a small town in a time when they'd sort of have the tech, but not enough nosy/policing for it to be noticed.
I mean, keep riding the PC train and next I won't be able to use an asylum, because that's making fun of people with mental disorders and I'm being offensive towards trials and tribulations that people actually suffered then. I also shouldn't KILL anyone, because, you know, people have died IRL, and I might trigger someone who's ever had someone die.
...By being sucked into a pool of psionic black that consumes their life force.
And icing on the retardation cake:
