Driver issued 50 traffic citations in 1 day

Elvis has left the vehicle. A man was arrested on more than 50 traffic citations - all in one day. Police said Elvis Alonzo Barrett, 46, fled from police trying to stop him for a traffic violation Thursday morning. Police said he ran through red lights, crashed into another car and a fence. Police said they found crack cocaine and a crack pipe in his car.  Barrett faces several charges, including fleeing and eluding and reckless driving.  He was also issued more than 50 traffic citations on charges including speeding, running red lights, and not wearing a seat belt.

Citation

But did they nab him for not having his insurance card on him???

Drug-dealing milkman spared jail

A milkman who admitted he delivered cannabis as well as pints to elderly customers to ease their aches and pains, was spared jail Friday.  Robert Holding, 72, from Burnley, told police he supplied the drug to 17 customers after detectives raided his home and found nearly 6oz (167g) of cannabis in an egg crate in the van he used for deliveries.  "He said he sold the cannabis to existing customers because they were old and had aches and pains," said prosecutor Sarah Statham.  "He said he sold a 9oz (255g) bar about every three weeks and sold it for a relatively cheap value. He said that customers left him notes saying, for example, 'Can I have an ounce this week or can I have an eighth.'"

Milk

Wait wait wait - there are places that still have milkmen???  And in a country where scientific units prevail - drugs are counted in ounces???

Naked hikers face spot fines in Swiss canton

Naked mountain hikers in the Swiss canton of Appenzell-Innerrhoden will in future face on the spot fines of 200 Swiss francs ($170), Swiss daily Tages-Anzeiger reported over the weekend.  A wave of naked hiking -- particularly popular with German visitors -- outraged people last year in the traditionally minded canton, Switzerland's smallest by population, which gave women the vote only in 1990.  "We must protect our children from these immoral habits," the paper quoted Melchior Looser, head of the cantonal justice and police department, as saying.  Police succeeded in catching a naked hiker red-handed last September, and the 44-year-old Swiss man was charged with public nuisance. But the case has not yet been heard, leading the local authorities to push for a quicker way to deal with offenders.  It was not clear where the naked hikers would find the money, although hikers often carry rucksacks.

Naked

I admit I would rather people keep their clothing on in public - but...immoral habits?  Gross, yes.  Immoral, not really.

Mans calls 911 after Burger King runs out of lemonade

A man was charged with misusing 911 today for a midnight complaint that a Boynton Beach Burger King had run out of lemonade, police say.  Jean Fortune, 66, dialed 911 and told dispatchers he was "unhappy with his order" at the Burger King at 1521 W. Boynton Beach Blvd., according to an arrest report.  When a Boynton Beach police officer arrived, the cashier told him she had informed Fortune at the drive-thru that the store no longer served lemonade. He became angry when he picked up his order at the window and threatened to call police.   The cashier told him to "Go ahead."  The officer noted in his report that Fortune could not explain why he resorted to calling 911 for a "civil dilemma."

911

...Is it just me or are less and less people able to understand that 911 is for EMERGENCIES?
