if somebody you know changes, if they do things they would never do or say things they would never say, have they really changed? or is it that you never really knew them after all?

Life is like a tree:
~its core the trunk: always growing higher, always the same tree, but big events (like i dunno being tarred over?) cause it to bend and grow and split in all different directions, thus it changes, but the base remains the same, it just grows wider to hide what it used to be because that is different from how it is now
~experiences are branches: they grow out of everything and sprout of just because, like big lessons that come from very small things
~leaves are the details of our lives: those that are strongest hold through winter, though they may be shrunken and dry, they're still there and will just be surrounded by new things after a rough period (kinda like old friends)
ok that was like.. a whole entry in your entry to a question that probably didn't expect an answer.. but that's what you get from dear old friends that love you with all their heart when you seem sad and disappointed in life (or people)
