Off to the island, and then Conflikt bound!

It was oh, so lovely to put my out of office on last night. It makes me smile a smirky little grin of evil at every “ping”, knowing they are getting my boilerplate, “if you have this problem do A; if you have that problem, do B; otherwise, see ya next week losers!”

Does that make me a bad person, the little hits of happiness I derive from that? DOES IT? Will I change if you think it does? No, but I’m asking because it’s important to know.

So, on the ferry, heading for the Island. If you are not a B.C. local, you might ask “which one!?” But everyone knows that you specify the smaller ones (Quadra, Saltspring, Bowen) and the Island is Vancouver Island. This teaching moment brought to you by a lack of sleep and caffeine deprivation. You’re welcome.

One of the joys of the ferry is getting one with the Pacific Buffet. Sadly, I did not win the lottery on this trip, and merely had White Spot food. Which is its own kind of awesome. Mmmm, triple O sauce on the legendary burger, nom nom nom.

Whilst in line for noms, I look over and... holy shit, that’s David Suzuki! If you’re not Canadian, that may leave you with a blank look, but people in my age bracket grew up watching “The Nature of Things”, and he’s like a Canuck icon to environmentally minded folk. Like the Wayne Gretzky of environmentalism. He was politely mobbed in a very orderly and Canadian fashion by quiet fans, thanking him for his contributions.

Oooo, the ferry feels like it’s shaking apart. No big deal, we’re just going through active pass. It always feels like that. Means we’re about 45 minutes out of the terminal.

OMG I’m so glad I’m not at work today. Also, I think there needs to be wine I my near future.

I am not bringing my guitar for Conflikt; instead, I’m gonna borrow Pondside’s and I’m just bringing my bodhran, and hopefully I will actually play it this time.

Point of note: BC Ferries wifi is kinda sucky.
