Crafty Post

I had the opportunity to fill in the gap for a crafter who was missed in the first round on
homemade2homemade. It was a real pleasure, since this was for the lovely and talented
monksandbones who created my lovely Stargate blanket.

I sent her a handmade Stargate journal and a loaf of chocolate zucchini bread. I didn't take picture of the bread, but here's the recipe:

CHOCOLATE ZUCCHINI BREAD

INGREDIENTS
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon baking powder
1 cups granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup sour cream
2 cups grated, peeled raw zucchini
1 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
½ cup mini chocolate chips

PREPARATION
Set the oven to 350 F.
Beat the eggs until light and foamy; add the sugar, oil, zucchini, and vanilla and mix lightly but well.
Combine dry ingredients and add to the egg-zucchini mixture; stir until well blended
Add chocolate chips; pour into two 9 x 5 x 3 inch greased or parchment paper lined loaf pans.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 1 hour. Cool on a rack.

And here are some photos from when I was making the journal.

So I have discovered that I *really like* making these hand bound journals. And I need to get my hands on some leather because I want to make one with a leather cover.
