Work kind of sucked today.
Yet another important initiative the former Big Boss and team was spearheading is fighting for life. It's almost unconscionably stupid to let the client get away with insisting that things remain the same because OMG scores might FALL if we ask customers questions in the different order or make changes!
Dude.First, if your program and product sucks so bad that asking questions in a different order makes your score fall? The problem is not with the survey. Just sayin'. Second. Your goal in creating a feedback program is to get feedback! Avoiding the feedback you don't like by manipulating the questions... ugh.
THESE PEOPLE DRIVE ME TO DRINK.
It's garden time again!
There was community garden meeting, I signed up again - have a lot on the north side of the garden this. We shall see if it makes a difference. I think it should get more sun. *crossing fingers*
Cardage!
Got three more cards done today and will mail off tomorrow.
I want a bigger paper cutter. Mine is only 10" wide and I'm cutting 12" sheets. It's annoying me. I also want more stamps, and a some of the fancy inks and one of those nifty embossing heater things. Also, a couple more paper punches. *sigh*
I'm starting to understand why there is such a craze for those cutting machine that cut paper and vinyl shapes for you, but NOPE. I am not dropping $300 on something like that because, as cool is it is, I'd never use it enough to justify the cost. Especially since I already have like 2 circle cutters and about a dozen patterned scissors.
Writing:
Editing today - I'm giving the fic a thorough going over. Fixing typos and awkward word choices, tightening things up, correct POVs since I jump around sometimes, removing redundancies. I deliberately stopped myself from reading what I'd already written before writing this past weekend so I would focus on getting the words out, but I worry I'll find things don't hold up and I'll need to rework some of it. Ah, well, it will be what it is.
I know I could have fleshed this fic out a bit more, but something I was never supposed to have to explain suddenly became a foundational part of the plot. This definitely could have another story follow it, but I would have to work out the specifics, and I've never really written serious crime / mystery / casefic before. It's something I will consider. I guess I should wait and see if people actually like the damn thing first.
