Random life dump post.
Oh, Flisties, how are you so awesome? Seriously. You guys made me feel so much better with all your comments when I was owie and bitch-moaning. Thanks for putting up with me.
This past weekend:
Down-side: I had the neck pain, then must have twisted the wrong way compensating because then I had a lower back pain with additional bonus shooting pains down my leg.
Upside: the neck pain is 95% gone, and the lower back pain reminded me that I AM A LAZY SLUG AND NEED TO GET MY ASS OFF THE COUCH AND WALK because I sit at a computer all day at work and that is the worst for compressing nerves and compromising circulation in my legs.
- I'm prone to sciatica already and I *know* I need to strength core muscles and MOVE but I am lazy, lazy, L A Z Y. *sigh* At the very least, I should be walking a mile a day. L A Z Y.
Overall, the weekend was okay - the kids helped with some chores; we got a balcony cleared of fallen leaves, powered through 6 loads of laundry and as many loads of dishes (HOW do the children in my house dirty EVERY SINGLE DISH I OWN??) as well as vacuuming, tidying - blah, blah, boring.
We got out for a walk one day - it was really lovely, cool brisk breeze and bright sunshine, just the way I like it. Then it started raining again. Ah, the onset of winter in Vancouver - RAIN, RAIN and MORE RAIN. Could be worse though; at least it ain't snow.
I was working on a fic during Squee weekend, one that had been languishing on the HD for a few years, and I had it about 2/3 done and was planning on finishing it on the weekend. But didn't, cuz it was to painful to sit at the computer for too long. I didn't even go online all weekend (I KNOW! HOLY CRAP, IT IS THE END OF THE WORLD!) But maybe I can get it done now.
AS LONG AS I REMEMBER TO TAKE WALKS AND NOT F*CK UP MY BACK! Did I mentioned LAZY? LAZY!
Work this week has not been as bat-shit crazy as it was last year at this time. This is partly due to the fact my boss is currently 4000 miles away (and therefore, so is his bat-shit crazy pre-Black Friday insanity) BUT this changes as of Friday, sooooo... I think I'll be planning for Martini Friday Night.
Hopefully Ma$$iveClient will get their ducks in a row and get us all the pre-sales data we need to get our ducks in a row by Wednesday. I'm quite certain everyone in the office is going to be at wit's end next week. I foresee no nerf wars in my immediate future; people get a might tetchy when you nail them with nerf darts when there's several hundred thousand dollars on the line. Don't know why that is, exactly, but it's true.
I'm in the mood for filk. And good fic. I wanna hang out with fans and drink wine and talk about John Sheppard's stupid hair and Rodney's hands and subtext.
