Looking for stuph
I'm trying to put together steampunky outfits for the kids for VCON.
I've got most of the components together - and Girly Girl's outfit looks *awesome* so far, if I do say so myself - but I need a few more things.
I still need a lab coat, some test tubes & flasks for the boy's outfit and an aviator cap for Girly Girl. I could order them online, but I'm trying to do this on the cheap, so I'll hit some of the local thift stores and hopefully find something.
I'm not too sure if I'm going to have time to put together an outfit for me. I may just have to use the old chemise and the green corset and make a brown skirt. I found an interesting pattern for a top hat that I think I can make that should add to the steampunk look. I really wanted to try to make an underbust corset, but I think I might be cutting it too close to the wire.
Ah, well. it'll be something.
Must go WORK and stop looking at steampunk fashions. Teh interwebz are addictive and costuming is like kryptonite. Weak, I am weak, yes I am...
