I don't think JM has been promising it will be made eventually, but saying he hasn't heard it won't be, as subtle as that difference is.

I think you're correct. Upon reflection, I was pretty annoyed when I made first post. I had just been informed of the news that I went on to share, and I should have been more clear about what I was saying.

I understand the corporate mentality of indecision. The higher ups can spend 6 or 8 months belabouring something before finally putting it to bed. So yeah, I grok that too.

Honestly? I would be very happy if the info I have turns out to be erroneous, a misunderstanding, or if the PTBs get their shit together and make an SGA movie. Delighted, stunned and amazed.

I just wanted to say one thing about SGU; I haven't got anything against it as such. It's another SG show. There were a ton of Trek spin offs. If SG can carry three shows, well then, by all means. It's the dismissive attitude toward the fans who watched SGA - fans who, demographically, seem to number high in *women*. It appears to me that middle aged women are not considered a valued viewership; women in general actually, if the brehawhaw over the leaked script with the body swapping, noncon sex and devaluation of people with disabilites says anything at all about the producers, writers and backers.

I want all the people who have a JOB because of this show to continue having a job - the actors. The grips. The PAs. The set, paint, and prop people. The writers. Even, god help me, Mallozzi. As much as people have their ire stirred up to boycott the show, that was never my intention. I just wanted MY show to be as valuable. I want my demographic to matter too. And they killed it when it was still viable, and waste always pisses me off. I know some fans vehemently disagree on this point, but other than the McKeller, I didn't have a problem with the scripts in general. I LIKED my show. I wanted more.

I'm babbling. My inner McKay is showing. Heh. So, shutting up now!

I'm totally with you on SGA vs SGU. I think SGA had some great stories left to tell. Not sure I'll enjoy SGU, but like you I want it to succeed for the sake of all the people working hard on it. And I figure the more money the franchise makes, the better chance we have for SGA and SG1 movies.

BTW, good luck to you finding a new job! Lay-offs suck. :(
