i was very troubled to discover that so many people are misinformed about feminism.
or if they are not misinformed then their anger for the feminist movement and feminists is severely misdirected.
and this xanga is meant for those people who think that women are weak.
i have tons of respect and admiration for women who choose to stay home and keep house and raise children and be wives, and i've even considered being a stay at home mother. but i would be restless as a housewife, and so would a lot of women. what i'm saying is that all women are different in their purposes and desires, and if we were to abolish all of the things that feminism has acomplished then we would be crushing the dreams of millions of women. feminism does not interfere with your desire to be susie homemaker, rather it helps those of us who want something different. i'm convinced that your hostility towards the feminist movement is misdirected. perhaps you hate society for making you feel that what you want isn't good enough, but i think that you'll find that you're not alone, and i think that you'll find that you have more in common with a lot of feminists than you think. i respect your opinion but i strongly disagree with it. and furthermore, your unwillingness to debate the subject just proves to me that you aren't as convinced of your own values as you are trying to appear to be.

i want to be treated as person not a pet, and as a women not a decoration.
women are wise we are givers of life we are warm and soft
and we are stronger on the inside than we are on the outside
if we were animals we would be lionesses, hunting and protecting
fighting and nurturing
because it is who we are
it is what we were meant to do
and if you try to stop us, we will fight harder

i am a very feminine person, and i love being a woman. i love being curvy i love being pretty i love being sensitive i love being intuitive. i love my brothers in this world as fiercely as i love anyone else, and i do not wish to push them down so that i may rise up. if they are truly my brothers then they will help me up.
my boyfriend is also a feminist. we are fearless, and we are in love, and we are in love with the God of the universe, just try and stop us.

for those of you who don't know, this was my xanga entry in response to a girl who thinks that the feminist movement should never have happened. i commented on her xanga saying how i disagreed and then she commented back saying:
"Thank you for your input. However, nothing you say will change my mind. I know what I want, I know what I choose to do, and I ask that you respect my decision.
If women have so much freedom to choose these days, why can't we choose to be a housewife? Are we expected to have careers? If so, that's not saying much for a LIBERATION movement.
I have nothing else to say to you."
and then she blocked me so i posted a xanga directed at her.
