"Because," Remus said, stepping away from the camera and sitting next to Sirius on the couch. "I'm tired of looking at old photographs. I want to be able to see us like this." He elbowed Sirius in the rib, but then placed a stiff arm around Sirius' shoulder. "Don't forget to smile," he added.
Remus looked straight into the camera when it flashed, but he rather imagined that his developed image would betray him later, and that he'd see himself looking just to the side, only at Sirius.
ADORE IT. What you did with the photo motif was wonderful! Oh, my heart went out to Sirius with his cryptic confession about the house photo. And this was such a pretty opening: like the shown-through light of the stars painted behind him. They're real, and I love that it's not a grand romance but it so obviously is.
yay! i'm so glad that you enjoyed this! working within the motif of photographs was a lot of fun, this was a wonderful request prompt. thanks for giving me the opportunity to write this!
I love this! Remus offering hemlock, Sirius asking if he could have it iced -- I cackled. Deftly done, to pin down their humor even amid such trying circumstances.
And the photographs -- what a mesmorizing theme, and oh how I loved that last line :) Beautiful.
