Why this story needs to be shacked: Well, really, I'm here to rec Thistlerose herself, as opposed to any one specific story, though Christmas, 1977 happens to be my very personal favourite. It made me cry, as I said to her, in that way where the tears come from the sweet, tight, aching little well in your chest, and it's not exactly happy, nor not exactly sad (though how can it not be, with The Boys), with a delightfully quirky description of Sirius's flat - one of the first I think I ever read, actually - and a few moments of just beautiful dialogue (I'm still a sucker for it). It's a classic for me, and the original charm hasn't ever worn off as far as I'm concerned, just as thistlerose, in my view, is a staple in the S/R fandom. <3
