I'm going to a show alone on Thursday.
I think that's going to be weird, but I've been looking forward to seeing Shai Hulud for several months, so I'm not going to miss seeing one of my favourite bands again. I was going to go with Adam and Hans, since we had a great time last time they came around, but I'm not sure they still want to go, plus I'm skipping the headliner (Misery Signals) because I need to be up early on Friday.
Oh well, a couple hours of awkward standing around will be worth it for Shai Hulud. I love love love that band. Some people look to prog for overblown, needlessly complicated music, but modern Shai Hulud applies ridiculous pretention to hardcore (which seems okay given the guys are so friendly and humble about it; the lead dude is a nerd and knows and celebrates it).
