Pardon the Rant

Apparently it was pretty pointless that I even posted about wanting to stay at this job. Yesterday there were some "occurrences" that caused our company president to loose his shit (as he often does). I don’t know everything that happened but a girl was fired because apparently she was warned numerous times about a dress code violation or personal phone use, and this set of a chain of events.

Anyway, 2 company memos went out to all 30 of our employees reminding us to read our company handbook and revising a few rules. All personal phone calls are prohibited, basically unless it’s an emergency you can’t call anyone for anything, nor can we receive calls of a personal nature. We can’t sit at our desks during lunch because if we do then we have to work; we can’t eat at our desks.

There was SO much more in this poorly worded grammatical disaster of a memo but it was enough to make me realize I REALLY do need to leave here now. He basically put it that if he wanted to he could just fire us all. I mean if we all had any dignity we would have just stood up and left because in reality, he’s FUCKED without us... this is a 30 person company and his ENTIRE business rests on them, and most have worked for him for years and are GOSSLY underpaid.

This guy had the audacity to sit there in the last sales meeting and say how it’s not about the money for him; it’s about performing a service. He just bought his 1 daughter her 2nd house and his youngest a brand new fully loaded Pontiac GT but no it’s not about the money. He’s had people who have busted their ass and dealt with his shit for over 10 years and are still making less than 40k a year.

I really don’t care that he built this business, that doesn’t grant you the right to lord over people nor does it give you the right to pay them the bare minimum for hard work in a successful company. And contrary to popular opinion, scaring the shit out of them doesn’t get them to work harder.

Ok I’m done.
