If you like tournament anime like I do and don't mind if it's about a board game or you actually like stragetic games like that, that should be an anime you would enjoy.

There are some wisdoms that actually also help in other situations, like "If you move in to attack it's very important to have a strong defense." or "There can both be offense and defense in retreat."
The soundtrack is quite good.
The characters are unique and interesting.

The murderer's motive is a bit too unrealistic and especially how he talked about it during the game in front of the jury O.O
Since 8 years ago Shion's parents were brutally murdered in front of her eyes she's been raised by the doting married couple next door. Now, many years later, she's advanced in the Shogi world, only the murderer seems to have anticipated that for some unknown reason... will this case finally come into light again and be solved?
