I get the feeling that I may be over-racting, but as one of my colleagues is expecting, I'm not taking any chances.

Probably wise....and I'm sure she'll appreciate you taking precautions. Although I'm pretty sure women trying to conceive are tested for immunity these days so hopefully she'll have had a booster shot or not needed one.

Hopefully it's "just" everyone else's lurgi, though. Poor you.

Hopefully. Like I said elsewhere I had the jab as a kid, pre MMR scare, we all did here. I had Rubella/ German measles as a child and then again about 8 years ago. So I'm not so sure on the you can't get it thing, I think it just reduces the side effects.

Cheers for you offer of help through FB, unless you want to use up some tickets to see Black Seeds, I can't think of anything....

That really is odd. I wonder if you ended up catching different strains of it or something. I'd have thought it was like other kids' illnesses that you get once and then that's it....surely that's how vaccines work? Although, not being a scientist, it's entirely possible I'm talking shite... ')

Alas, I've got my class this evening so no Black Seeds for me. :(

I had just the same conversation with my GP down south last time.

I had gone in with a rash asking if it could be an allergy and asking for help with what to avoid. She told me it was rubella, and you can get it more than once. Hmm may have to do some research.

Good luck with your class etc. Munchkin was ok about the tickets not being used so no worries...

Strange the NHS website suggests that immunisation can wear off, however they also say that once you get it you shouldn't get it again. ah well, I shall see what the GP says.
