I was going to stake-out Patty's Steakhouse this afternoon to see if anything suspicious is going on there, but turns out they are a smoke-free establishment, so I couldn't stay very long.

Who owns the place? Who are the regulars there? Would that kind of information be useful in tracking down the thief, or is it just a random drop spot?
