Written by Ian Cullen on May 26, 2010 - 10:15 am
During a round table event to promote new movie Splice, Hollywood producer Joel Silver talked a little to SciFiWire about the second Sherlock Holmes movie, which will see Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law reprise their roles of Holmes and Watson, and will also see leading lady Rachel McAdams return, but in a lesser role.
In terms of the story, the movie picks up where the last film left off, and sees Holmes on the hunt for his arch-nemesis, Professor Moriarty.
“We want it to be really bold and strong, and Moriarty has got to be a really incredible character,” Silver said. “We spent a movie setting up a character, and now we can make the next movie where we pay that character off.”
In regards to Rachel McAdams who played the role of Irene Adler in the first film, Silver revealed that she’d play a smaller role in the second movie, but said little else.
“She’ll be present,” was all Silver would say.
When asked when work will start on the movie, Silver revealed that he plans to start shooting in the autumn with a view to releasing the movie in time for May 2011.
En resumen:
-Irene aparecerá aunqeu su papel será pequeño
-Quieren hacer de Moriarty un personaje increíble.
-El trabajo empezará en otoño, y esperan que salga para mayo del 2011.
