Hey all,
I'm trying to figure out whether there would have been any sort of men's hair dye products available in London, beginning in approximately 1986 and going forward (if there wasn't anything like that until later, it would help to know exactly when things of that nature began to be marketed). What I'm hoping for is something like the sort with a little touch-up wand - apply a little by hand to cover specific grey hairs, semi-permanent to gradually wash out within three to six shampoos.
Obviously this has to do with a plot point involving Lestrade, is it obvious? ;) I did a bunch of searching which probably was more like flailing my arms wildly at Google and Wikipedia, but I came up with nothing useful.
If there weren't any products like that on the market at the time, do you think it would be at all feasible to apply tiny amounts of mascara to disguise small areas of grey/silver hair? He'd have to re-apply that every day, and be very careful to avoid clumps, but it might be a workaround.
Any help would be much appreciated!
