64. Eggs in Purgatory by Laura Childs (278 pgs)
I'm a sucker for foodie lit, in any genre, so while I don't typically read cozy mysteries or crime novels, I tend to adore Laura Childs' Tea Shop Mysteries and her new series, Cackleberry Club Mystery, of which Eggs in Purgatory is the first.

The Cackleberry Club is a breakfast place/ tea room/ knitting store/ bookstore - basically the perfect small town everything social place to set as a backdrop for this kind of book. I love the integration of recipes and have my eyes on a few to make.

65. Oolong Dead by Laura Childs (316 pgs)
Another charming tea shop mystery from Laura Childs, where a murder brings Theodosia back into contact with her ex-boyfriend. I love the setting (Charleston and the tea shop) and the connections to society and Gullah culture in this particular mystery were a nice touch. I tried a few of the recipes and blogged them here in my baking blog.

66. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami (611 pgs)
This is the second book by Murakami that I've read, and I am really in love with his characters and his style. This is the story of a man inside a marriage as it falls apart, but also about all the unpredictable things that happen to him and the stories surrounding those events. Unexpected and interesting.

"It was a narrow world, a world that was standing still. But the narrower it became, and the more it betook of stillness, the more this world that enveloped me seemed to overflow with things and people that could only be called strange. They had been there all the while, it seemed, waiting in the shadows for me to stop moving. And every time the wind-up bird came to my yard to winds its spring, the world descended more deeply into chaos."
