I have Vicks VapoRub smeared on my feet, covered in cozy socks right now. I had two people in two days tell me that's what they do, so I'm trying it. At this point I would try anything to not spend the night coughing.
I had someone tell me to do that too. It didn't do squat for me, but I hope it works better for you. Here's other things that didn't work: rum hot toddy, Nyquil, vaporizer, humidifier, more heat, less heat, fan on, fan off, sleeping sitting up, cough drops, lots of water, hot tea with honey and lemon, and on and on. I hit five days without sleep because of coughing and the only thing that got rid of it was hydrocodone laden cough syrup.
