After touring the north, my family decided to cap the summer with a visit to the south: Davao!
I've been to all the major stops: Cebu, Dumaguete, Vigan, Laoag, Baguio, Batangas, Tagaytay, Bohol, Cavite, Laguna, Boracay. I've been to several 'minor' destinations: Masbate, Siquijor, practically the whole of the Bicol peninsula, Quezon, Tarlac, La Union and Pangasinan. But in my opinion, Davao beats 'em all hands down in terms of delivering over-all activity packed happiness. On this, my second visit, I realized that Davao is the most livable and lovable city in the whole country. It has everything...all within 30mins-1hour away from each other: beaches, snorkelling sites, Baguio-like mountains, a bustling city and business district, the best fruit plantation and perfect weather.
I love Davao! (on the boat we used for island hopping and snorkelling. notice the bit of durian clutched in my hand)
Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink (the water was so clear. more than 10ft deep yang tubig na yan!)
White water rafting on the mighty Davao river...
....and then we capsized.
Afterwards, I wanted to make peace with the river by taking on the final rapid (there were 26 of them!) on my own: I jumped off the boat and basically just let it flow! I'm the first one who waves in this clip.
One with the water A view from the top: Eden Garden, 3250 ft above sea level and just as cold as Baguio.

Thus endeth my summer vacation :)
