Business Services vs. Philosophy Club: Round 2
Okay. So now the funds are in our account, but we can't access them. Apparently, we needed to submit a disbursment request by Monday for us to access it within that week...which was yesterday...when the funds were not yet in our account. We talked to CLASS Council about finding a way to make an exception for us. They told us to talk to this one woman, who was in charge of sending the checks electronically to the hotels and car rental place (coz plane tickets now cost double the amount we had budgeted for). She would be the one to make the exception for us.
But when we got there...she basically refused to talk to us. The President said she was sitting right there and instead of talking to her directly, the woman sent her student aide to talk to us. When the President asked if she could speak directly to the woman, the woman said "no" and walked into the backroom. Given that it was obvious they weren't going to do squat for us, we left.
I then told the President that the letter we sent to the director of Business Services might have something to do with the rude response we were greeted with. But as I said (and you may have read), it wasn't rude nor excessively assertive; it was polite and cordial while still maintaining assertiveness. Albeit, it was a little accusatory, but the blame was rightly placed.
Seriously, we don't know what to do. The president of our club has connections to the president of our school, but using that card seems like a cheap cop-out. And constantly bothering the president of our school wouldn't be a good idea since he already has a lot on his plate.
Right now, we've asked our club coach to step in. Hopefully he knows someone who can force that woman to do her fuckin' job.
I'm fed up with this stupid shit that is ASI Business Services.
On a side note, the numbness has now crawled up to the top back of my head, avoiding my face. It has now also moved down my arm.
I hate life.
