life has been beyond eventful lately. too much has happened in too little of time to explain it all here. thanks to the efficient media, most of you know what i'm talking about, atleast the major events. the minor ones seem so minuscule in respect. it's amazing how life can change so quickly. and how your perceptions of people can be completely contradicted faster than you can comprehend. but i'm doing ok. my family is handling everything as best as we can. it's just one of those situations that you deal with day by day, hour by hour. you never know what's around the corner....
luckily i've been keeping myself pretty busy. i went to an engineering conference this past weekend, hosted by k-state in KC. it was an alright conference, i only have two to compare it two, but from the talk of the crowds it definitely wasn't one of the best. for instance, for our "formal banquet", we had a bar-b-que buffet dinner at the town hall of Old Shawnee Town. people came dressed in everything from jeans and t-shirts to prom gowns. not a good picture. not to mention not the best way to show of kansas city. i respect the k-staters for hosting it, but it really seemed like it was all thrown together really quickly and not much thought was actually put into it. oh well, can't change the past. next regional conference will be in austin, TX, which is almost guaranteed to be more exciting than KC.
i have three test this week (which i should be studying for), which should keep me pretty distracted. i've almost got my summer plans down, still doing some planning. but the basic idea is that i'm going to live in lawrence (my sister needs someone to watch her apartment and cats while she goes to chicago), work at the pool in RP, take physics at JCCC and volunteer at the hospital in lawrence. i'm still working on the timing of it all, but it should work out pretty well.
what is everyone else doing for the summer?
