Day after Christmas blues

Dec 26, 2004 14:52

Well, I hope Christmas went well for everyone. My loot:

Canon A75 Digital Camera
Lite On DVD Burner (But it's broken, I have to return it)
New Flogging Molly CD
Best Buy Gift Cards
Seven CD GTA:Vice City soundtrack Box set
Katamari Damacy (Awesome game)
White castle T-Shirt.

Yesterday was a very relaxing day; all everyone really did was just sit in and enjoy each other's company.

Today is a different story, however.

I awoke to the phone ringing. I heard my mom answer it and say "Hi, Joel!" (My uncle.) "Oh, what's wrong?" I couldn't hear the rest, so I went back to sleep. It turns out that my grandmother, the one that my dad went up to see about a month ago, has had another stroke, this time on her right side. She is now pretty much fully paralyzed, and isn't responding. It's now a matter of weeks, or probably even days before she dies. Again, I did not know her too well, but the toll this is going to take on my dad is going to be horrible.

Shortly after hearing about my grandmother, I learned that in Southeast Asia, an Earthquake caused a Tsunami that killed 8,000 people. Wonderful.

Then, I spent all morning trying to fix my computer, which I think I have done, but I'm not sure.

On the bright side, I awoke to insanely heavy snow; we got about two or so inches. Not much compared to my other grandmother, who got a foot in one night, but hey, it's something. I am probably going to go to Annabelle's house to throw some stuff at her. It might be a snowball, it might be a brick, who knows.

Merry Christmas, everyone. Please leave a hug for me; I need it once more.
