Well, first of all, obviously, Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
Yesterday was my first time at the NorVa with Shun; we saw Slayer. See, my parents have never let me go to the NorVa, because they have heard from ONE person that they got BRUISED there, despite dozens of other friends who can say firsthand that they have never been hurt. This made last night 'a test' in the eyes of my mom, as all other concerts have been; she is looking for some infintecimal reason to not let me go to concerts. You see, the first concert I went to alone, which was earlier this year (Hoobastank), someone bumped on me while he was jumping up and down. When I say bumped, I mean literally bumped me, I pushed him off, and everything was fine. I told this to my mom (she said 'any injuries' and I said 'no. a guy bumped into me', hoping that she would realize it was sarcasm), and she flipped.
Anyway, I didnt get hurt at all, and I saw some badass metal bands. Shun and I were in the front row, and it was paradise.
On Tuesday, I wrote an essay in school for my Daughter's of the American Revolution Scholarship thing; if you aren't familiar, the Cape Henry chapter chose me as the recipient, and based on my essay and some other written such, I might get a huge scholarship. The essay was 'How we as Americans can protect our heritage,' and I wrote it on how by exercising our freedoms of speech, voting, and freedom to protest the government, we can act in ways our founding fathers would have liked us to. Probably lessened my chances of winning because I didn't write "I <3 USA!" but oh well.
Shortly after the essay, I found Scotty Meyers, a few dozen of the Jeremys, Karl and Carter, and Scotty and I started loudly singing 'Build me up Buttercup.' It was quite awesome, until we noticed Mr. Jordan staring at us from a classroom, which we then realized meant that exams were still being taken. Fuck. Scotty and I bolted.
Shun and I then went to Nawab, which is the greatest resturant ever. Period.
The other day, this giant box of awesomeness came in the mail (Click for full pic):
The entire Monty Python's Flying Circus on DVD. Many of you have probably seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail; this is the series that came before the movie. 50 Episodes, 14 DVDs, and two dvds of an A&E Biography on it. One of the best dvd sets ever.
So that's my break... filled with going back to school and British comedy. Awesome.
Also, if you have the chance, Watch the show Scrubs. It's on NBC at 9:30 on Tuesdays... where else will you hear the line "I love this moment so much I want to have sex with it," only to hear the line "I love this moment so much, I want to cheat on the other moment, marry this moment, and have a family of little moments" 10 minutes later?
