Skiing

Today I went skiing for the first time. Two of my neighbors, Georgia and Lauren and I went to Nashoba Valley which is about an hour out of Boston. We got up at 7:30 to get ready to leave and hit up Dunkin' Donuts and Shaws before we left for the mountain. The ride there wasn't bad and I was surprised we found our way so easily considering all we had was a hand written set of directions with no map. The mountain wasn't so much a mountain as much as it was a large hill. It had a couple black diamonds though. After the interesting experience of putting on ski boots, which have to be one of the most uncomfortable pieces of footwear ever invented, we headed over to the bunny hill which had a rope that essentially drags you up the hill. I got up ok and got down the little hill without falling. The next time I went up I fell on the rope and they had to stop it so I could get my ski back on. That was embarassing, but not too bad. There were lots of families there with really little kids. That was one of the most surprising things. Then we went to the blue slope. At first looking down I was scared but after I learned to turn and "PIZZA!" and I was ok. There was one trail I really liked that went through the woods with lots of turns. That I liked more than the slopes that went straight down. There was also a slope with some jumps and I was planning to go off when and I chickened out at the last second and stopped at the top of the jump. Later on I went off a smaller one but it was more of just a mound and I didn't get any air and almost fell flat on my ass but managed to save it. After lunch which we had bought at Shaws that morning we took the slope up to the black diamond slope. It wasn't that much harder than the blue but def a lot faster and I had to go slower. We were there till about 3:30 and then we headed home because the Super Bowl was on. All in all I really enjoyed skiing and want to do it again sometime.
The Super Bowl was ok. It was kinda boring and the ads weren't all that great this year. Meh. I'm exhausted after such a long day and I'm hoping I won't be too sore tomorrow.
