NATURE AND SHIT

Mar 02, 2005 14:27

*my cousin scott and myself created a garden in his back yard. ive spent all my time off this week working on it. it's one of the most rewarding experiences i've ever had. it's like having a child, except it doesn't suck. spending all day outside working with nature in the sun makes me hate my normal job even more.

*it's interesting that i would rather spend entire days working hard, elbow deep in dirt and manure, getting dirty, than i would spending all day in a clean, cool office on the internet. i genuinely enjoy working hard, and bearing the fruits of my own efforts. working in an office is fucking suffocating me.

* gardening is so therapeutic. all the tension and frustration that i had built up from the past few months has just disappeared. it's almost as if i know what it's like to be happy again. holy crap! i highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. it feels good to put back into a planet that we take so much from without gratitude.

* for the interested:
-so far we have planted: onion, radish, marigold, peppermint, chammomile, sunflowers, asparagus, okra, rosemary, basil, daikon radish
- we will be planting: cucumber, tomato, corn, watermelon, an array of flowers, and many others, yes, it is a big ass garden!

PS- since i hate my job so much more, i need to find a new one, thats pays fairly well, but doesnt suck. what is a guy to do?
