Alright, so I haven't made an actual post in quite some time now, but since I finally have two consecutive days off (hopefully*), I figure I might as well. Here's what's been happening:
First, I've got a job now. I'm working at a Subway, which is totally craptacular, but the pay is fairly decent for what it is. Making about $7.50 an hour with tips, which brings it up to about $8 - $8.50 an hour. Not bad, and I'm usually getting in about 80 - 90 hours per two weeks. The work is stressful, but the people I work with are great, and I can take two or three months of ANY job if it means moving in with my mate sooner.
(* My boss is currently trying to get me to come in to work right now, 'cause someone didn't show up, and I really don't feel up to it. Though, if he keeps bugging me, I'll probably give in. Bah.)
Quakecon! The chances are looking better and better each day that I'll actually be going to this spectacular event. It takes place from July 31st to August 3rd in Dallas, and is the biggest LAN party in the United States (As well as the largest free LAN in the world), with several thousand people scheduled for the BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) area. There are tons of tournaments, prizes out the ass, and John Carmack is expected to speak to unveil new happenings with ID Software. Any other time, the trip cost for this would be effin' hefty as hell, but a bunch of gamers from DLP are getting some stuff together, and as we have it right now, we have about ten people registered, and the overall cost there and back, with hotels, food, and gas included, should be less than $200 per person. And it may be even cheaper, 'cause Kami ovah thar may be attending, too, and I might crash on his floor instead of renting a hotel room. So far, it's looking great. Chances to win tons of prizes, hang out with some of my good friends, meet new friends, and just overall do fun stuff before I come back to Durango, pack up my shit, and move to Oregon.
But other than all of that, there's not a whole lot happening. DLP is coming up on the 23rd, I recently secured a copy of Fallout 2, and I still haven't had any luck finding a Glock 19. However, the Springfield XD-9 Sub-compact really, really caught my attention last time I went to the shop...
But for now, I'm out. Going to go shoot for a bit I think, play some games, listen to music, and try to enjoy my day off.
Peace!
