days are now like years.... lol

Hello all!

We are nearing the end of this tunnel we call a deployment... with about 9 days to go things are quiet around here... which is not what i can say about the past couple days. Our replacements showed up and it was an instant panic, people trying to catch up with their buddies, find a rack next to them or just hang out...

Then you have the people that have been here for the first part of deployment acting superior and giving the "newbies" a hard time... i say why bother, we've all been "newbies" at something many times over... and wasn't it at that time you thought to yourself "i'm so new at this, i hope this goes well" and then you have some ass come and make it hard on you... well when you are on the giving end of it, be nice and welcome the new people, maybe help them out... you'll feel better about yourself afterwards... write that down.

So yeah, things are calming... yet some people remain restless... (i.e. ME), Our report week is coming up here tomorrow which is good so i will be able to show my replacement what to do, but i'll be flying out for the second half of our report so i'm still thinking on how i plan to show her both sides of it. oh well, i'll figure something out.

Over all, i think i've made some friends out here, not as many as last time... but that is expected when you are at the staff level... more officers and staff NCO's = less friends and more professionalism... i like my job here so i don't mind.

The promotion board lets out here in a couple weeks... kinda feeling bad about it. we have 5 quotas for promotion and there are like 40 people getting looked at... although i am more competitive this year than last year... i just don't like the odds... i mean its 1 in 8 that i get picked... fingers are cross.

GREAT NEWS

I got the inside track on a used, but in great condition Tornado Cyclone Foosball Table the guy is asking $650 for it but i talked him down to $500. Now, if i can come through and sell my current table for the $200 bucks that i'm asking i will even more happy!!

I'll also be looking to get my job back at the paintball park on base... since my surgery made me sensitive to light, i suppose i'll have to get a new mask with a tinted lens. that should help.

CoMpUtEr NeWs

With the help of some other "Data Dinks" around here i was able to find a new motherboard, video card, RAM and a 250 gig External Hard Drive for under $600 bucks... not bad at all. The video card and hard drive sucking up the most money.
we'll have to see how this foosball table thing works out before we can go into the computer parts.

I also have an inside track on a used lap top, so lets hope things go well there too.

Family news

My niece Nikki, has recently found out that they will be buying pink for the nursery! that's right, her and her husband Bobby (who just returned from Iraq as i came out here) will be have a little girl. She told me the name i've since forgotten it... i'll have to call her when i get home and ask what it is again, sowie. So cheers to her and Bob. Congrats!

College Football

I noticed that Michigan Killed U of Miami (OH) the other day... good deal, i'll be home just in time for the college football season... even though i only watch the michigan games... i saw 4 games last year, that was the most i've ever saw in one season, ever!

MOVIE NEWS
